Five Things I Want To Help My Audience With

Hello! Welcome to The Everyday Teacher!

The purpose of this blog is to help and inspire both veteran teachers and new-to-the-profession teachers alike. I (Teresa) am just an ordinary, everyday teacher that is trying to get become a better educator and person for both my students and myself. Therefore, I specifically want to:

  • Provide ideas and methods to improve classroom management
  • Recommend different products that can benefit educators and students
  • Develop a community of educators both veteran and new to the profession that helps and encourages each other
  • Discuss how to develop essential student relationships
  • Be real with you as a fellow teacher

Provide ideas and methods to improve classroom management

Did you know that no two classrooms look the same in regard to classroom management? It is important to discuss different methods of managing a classroom because what works for one teacher may or may not work for another teacher.

I believe having a variety of methods in your toolbag will make you a more efficient teacher!

Recommend different products that can benefit educators and students

Education has come a long way from the chalkboard, textbooks, pen, and paper. Many schools are now going to a one-to-one initiative where each student has a device with which to learn.

Staying up to date with different products, and strategies to utilize those products will benefit both educators and students.

Develop a community of educators both veteran and new to the profession that helps each and encourages each other

No man is an island, and teachers should not be either! It is crucial that veteran teachers be willing to impart wisdom to those that are new to the profession, while also being willing to learn from those that are new as well!

Whenever I have a student-teacher, I feel like I learn so many new and fresh ideas that benefit me long after the student-teacher has left! Hopefully, this blog will serve as a place you can learn new tips and tricks to use in your classroom.

Discuss how to develop essential student relationships

No matter how brilliant a lesson plan is, if you do not have a basic relationship with your students, they will not learn from you as well as they could.

Some students do not need a deep relationship with their teachers because their needs are being met at home.

Some students do need a deep relationship with their teachers because their needs are not being met at home.

As a community, hopefully, we can discuss how to identify and develop those needed relationships.

Be real with you as a fellow teacher

I am not a perfect teacher. I never have been, and I will never be. However, when I read other teachers’ blogs or watch their social media streams, I always feel inadequate. I would almost bet that if you’re reading this, you probably have felt the same way.

So, let’s be real together! I will share my ups and downs with you if you are willing to do the same!

Conclusion

Being a teacher in today’s day and age is not easy. The job requires long hours with little appreciation.

I am committed to helping you improve your career as an educator.

I am looking forward to learning from you as well!
